My Dad was a regular soldier when WW2 broke out and was one of the first into Belgium. Didn’t get the orders to retreat to Dunkirk and spent much of the war as a POW. Escaped 3 times finally reaching the American advance and safety.

Died Gallantly at the Somme aged 27, in the battle of Ancre on November 16th 1916. Laid to rest in Euston cemetery and always in thoughts your family from Hull. Here with brothers L to R Ronald, John & Stanley. Other brother Bertrand Anzac also died at the Somme 1918.
